Mike James has signed a $5 million, three-year deal with Olimpia in Italy, according to a report.
Chema de Lucas reports James, who spent his first five years playing in Europe before signing a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns in July, is headed back overseas.
James’ deal with Phoenix was escalated into a full NBA contract in December, but he was waived two weeks later. He then signed with New Orleans on another two-day seal in mid-January, but the Pelicans waived him in February.
He finished the 2017-18 season with Panathinaikos in Greece.
The 6-foot-1, 189-pounder out of Lamar University, played in 36 NBA games this season, 32 for Phoenix and four for New Orleans.
The 27-year-old averaged 9.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 19.1 minutes in those 36 games (10 starts), shooting 38.3 percent from the field, 26.5 percent from three and 76.2 percent from the free-throw line.
