Brooklyn Nets forward Kenneth Faried was arrested Sunday for unlawful possession of marijuana, according to the Southampton (New York) Town Police Department.
Faried was charged with fourth-degree possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor for those allegedly in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana.
The Nets acquired Faried from the Denver Nuggets in July. He’s owed $13.8 million in 2018-19, the final year of his deal.
After spending the first seven years of his career in Denver, Faried fell out of the Nuggets’ rotation this past season and averaged just 5.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 32 games, shooting 51.4 percent from the field.
Faried was transported to headquarters for processing, police said. He was released on $500 bail.
The 28-year-old has career averages of 11.4 points and 8.2 rebounds in 441 games.
